Assumption began as a mission of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Berlin. The church, still standing, was built in 1909 on the White Horse Pike. Father Peter A. Budniak was named first pastor when the parish was established in 1947. The mission of St. Anthony's, Waterford, was then attached to the new Atco parish.

Assumption school opened in 1955 under the pastorate of Father (later Monsignor) George E. Sharkey, staffed by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

A combination church-hall was dedicated by Bishop Guilfoyle in November 1975 during the pastorate of Monsignor Thomas St. J. Cannon. A new church was dedicated November 9, 1986.

House of Charity

Our goal here at Christ the Redeemer Parish is $120,000.00 - but we have already raised an incredible $80,441.00 from the contributions of only 275 Families! That's an average gift of over $393.00 each! Now we invite all Parishioners to participate in this important effort. Please make your sacrificial gift to help continue the mission of the Church here in the Diocese of Camden.

Please Note: All pledge cards and outright gift cards should be returned to the parish office. Thank You
